Overview

Finance Management:

Directs business service activities related to budgets, accounts, and financial procedures.

Administers and monitors capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets; investigates variances and makes budget recommendations.

Supply Chain Oversight:

Manages supply chain functions, including negotiating new and renewal service contracts.

Ensures contracts meet organizational requirements and resolves vendor questions.

Leadership and Strategic Direction:

Provides strategic direction on industry issues and long-term strategies.

Contributes significantly by planning departmental goals and objectives and offering guidance and leadership.

Operational and Employee Management:

Evaluates and improves operational and financial procedures; monitors workflow.

Provides performance feedback, resolves issues, and manages employee relations, benefits, and compensation.

Work Location: Emory University Hospital

Minimum Qualifications:

*Strongly prefer candidates with financial operations and supply chain management backgrounds*

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, healthcare administration or related field required.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • 5 - 7 years healthcare related experience, ambulatory setting preferred.

  • 2 years supervisory/manager experience.

Description

  • Directs all business service activities to include budgets, accounts, policies and procedures in the areas of Human Resources, Finance, Facilities Management and research for a department, division, or school.

  • Manages direction on complicated tasks, problems, and analysis.

  • Contributes significantly to department and system by providing guidance and leadership.

  • Plans and develops departmental budget requirements.

  • Administers and monitors capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets; reviews prior budget expenses, investigating variances, and takes corrective action as necessary.

  • Makes budget recommendations.

  • Negotiates new and renewal service contracts; reviews provisions and resolves any questions with the vendors to ensure that service contracts meet the organization's requirements.

  • Ensures that awarded grants conform to defined budget parameters and projects budget needs to accommodate future grant funding increases, changes, and awards.

  • Providing strategic direction on industry issues; building long-term strategies.

  • Develops departmental goals and objectives.

  • Administers departmental policies, procedures, and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines; reviews, revises, and communicates them to ensure compliance.

  • Evaluates operational and financial procedures; makes improvements. Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.

  • Monitors and directs workflow.

  • Researches, effectively resolving issues, and makes decisions related to employment, employee relations, benefits, and compensation.

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates a variety of activities or special projects that affect the department's, school's, or division's operations including space or facility planning, staff reorganizations or restructuring, the provision of new services, or other operational changes.

  • Strategically manages customer relationships.

  • Assigns responsibility of data collection and report generation; reviews completed reports. Directs the preparation and processing of employee information, human resources action forms, job descriptions, employment requisitions, and other required paperwork for the department.

  • Provides strategic direction on technical issues.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
