We are looking for an Optometric Technician to join our outstanding team providing the same excellent care. We are seeking an experienced OPTOMETRIC/OPTHALMIC TECHNICIAN who is a friendly, motivated team player that enjoys working with people and can deliver great patient experience. Positive attitude and energy, strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to multitask and pay attention to details is required. Should have strong work ethics, have professional appearance, be reliable, punctual and dependable with flexibility & adaptability with a strong desire to learn and grow in a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the profession. GENERAL FUNCTION: The basic function of the technician will be to oversee patient care from beginning to end with minimal patient wait times.The ideal candidate must understand the need for efficient use of time to accomplish all necessary tasks. Duties include but not limited to preparation of patients for exam including pre-testing, visual acuity, use of auto-refractor, NCT, Lensometry, Visual Field Testing, Retinal Imaging etc. and ensuring proper checkout of patients following exams and procedures. Need to have knowledge of current HIPPA and ICD Codes and filing vision insurance claims. WHAT WE OFFER: * Flexible schedule (Closed on Sunday) * Health Benefits * Paid Vacation * Competitive pay * Commissions * Continuing Education and Training * Free pair of eyeglasses every year * Family discounts   MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but not limited to preparation of patients for exam including pretesting, visual acuity, use of auto-refractor, NCT, Lensometry, Visual Field Testing etc. and ensuring proper checkout of patients following exams and procedures. Should be able to assist and train the patients in contact lens insertion/removal, scheduling appointments and follow-ups, maintaining testing equipment, organizing and maintaining patient files, verifying insurance benefits and billing accordingly. Should also be able to dispense, adjust and repair eyeglasses and sell Contact lenses. Any other duties as assigned by Store Manager KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Must be Computer Literate. EHR/EMR experience is a plus. Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed patient expectations. Foster positive and results-oriented associate and doctor relationships. Attention to detail and follow-up. Ability to multitask, manage priorities through adaptability and flexibility. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent, or comparable experience typically achieved with a minimum of  2 years in the field of vision care.
