JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is assigned to the Maine Revenue Services, Operations Security Team. This is professional services work involving the review, examination and evaluation of complex organizational structures, security policies, and management methodologies.

This position will be responsible for supporting MRS security operations, policies, procedures, procurement, plans, and other security practices. The position will study and document security activities and processes to report and provide recommendations for improvement to policies, procedures, plans, practices, and organization.

This position will research standards, state and federal legal requirements, and best practices relative to MRS’s security responsibilities. This position is responsible for assisting and coordinating the security operations team pertaining to the execution of non-financial internal audits and internal control reviews, response to external audits, contracting, and security project work as assigned. This position will support the Operations Security as a team member.

Work can include the supervision of subordinate professional and clerical employees. Work is performed under limited supervision. This position will maintain a high level of work quality and foster cooperative interactions with all work groups.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

· Plans and organized studies of policies, plans, procedures, and incident handling problems including duplication, communication, and information flow to develop and maintain efficient operations.

· Gather and organize information on problems, deficiencies, and resource waste in order to collect information for management analysis.

· Analyzes data gathered, develops information and documentation, and considers solutions or alternative methods of proceeding in order to recommend organizational and system changes and modifications.

· Initiates new policy, plans, and procedures confers with and trains staff with security and continuity roles and conducts operational effectiveness reviews in order to ensure smooth implementation and functioning.

· Develops and updates documentation in order to outline performance methods, organizational policies and procedures, and team operations.

· Support incident response with handling as needed to support team cohesion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Eight (8) years of education, training, and/or experience analyzing, evaluating, and/or developing improvements to organizational and/or managerial systems, programs, and practices.
