Job Description:

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Full-Time Surgical Services Specialist to join our teams in Augusta and Waterville. This position offers a stable work schedule with no night, weekend, or holiday shifts required, making it ideal for those looking for work-life balance while contributing to high-quality patient care.

Key ResponsibilitiesScheduling and Coordination:

  • Efficiently receive, coordinate, and schedule surgical service requests.

  • Determine and prepare system and equipment needs for each procedure.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, physician offices, and vendors to ensure all necessary resources are available for surgical procedures.

Resource Management:

  • Manage and optimize supply and equipment costs.

  • Coordinate labor and operating room requirements.

  • Gather and analyze payer coverage, coding, and billing information to determine appropriate facility charges.

Charge Entry and Audits:

  • Perform thorough internal charge entry audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure proper coding to maximize reimbursement.

  • Consult with clinical staff to address and resolve any discrepancies.

Administrative Support:

  • Execute routine administrative duties and oversee workflow to support surgical services.

Requirements:Time Management and Organizational Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to balance and manage multiple schedules and tasks simultaneously.

  • Maintain detailed records of booking sheets, charges, communications with clinical staff, and phone calls.

Ability to Thrive Under Pressure:

  • Stay calm and efficient when handling urgent and emergency surgical requests.

  • Adapt quickly to changing situations and demands.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate relevant software and systems.
