Job Description

The UCHealth Legal Department provides legal support services across various departments including physician contracting, supply chain, litigation, operations, regulatory, real estate, clinical research, medical staff services, and transactions. The legal intern will support the Legal Department attorneys and specific projects will be determined based on the Department's needs. The Legal Intern will perform legal research and writing assignments in support of various attorneys on the team, and will gain exposure to a dynamic in-house counsel role.

Required qualifications:

  • Successfully completed one year of law school and actively continuing to pursue law degree at the completion of the internship

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Excellent research skills; and experience working with Lexis Nexis

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Professionalism

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexibility to adapt to changing needs

  • Solid organizational and time management skills and impeccable attention to detail

  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism

  • Willingness to enhance skills

  • Self-starter who is results-oriented and exhibits responsibility, creativity, and intellectual curiosity

  • Discretion and ability to maintain information confidentially

Duration: 7-10 consecutive weeks during the summer between May 13 and August 16, 2024. This internship is between 20-40 hours per week.

Location: This internship is based in Aurora, CO and will require working primarily onsite and in-person. Travel to and from different offices in the Front Range may be required. Candidates should reside in the Denver metro area or be able to relocate at their own expense.

Compensation: $25.00 / hour
