TITLE: IT Software Engineering Manager, D365 ERP

REPORTS TO: D&IT Director, Applications

LOCATION: Bangalore

JOB SUMMARY:

Polaris, a global powersports leader in off-road vehicles, motorcycles and snowmobiles, is looking for an experienced and passionate manager for our Dynamics ERP (D365FO) software team. This is an exciting role leading the team building Order-To-Cash and Manufacturing solution spanning our global footprint. It requires team leadership skills, business & technical acumen, and the ability to effectively execute projects. You will have the ability and empowerment to make changes and move quickly, directly impacting transformation projects at Polaris.

The ideal candidate is an articulate and organized hands-on leader by example, with proven experience deploying D365FO ERP solutions at scale, who is effective in a fast-paced Agile Development environment, can shepherd development processes, mentor and supervise functional analysts / engineers at all levels, and collaborate across teams within the company. Interest in powersports is a plus. Responsibilities include balancing multiple project priorities within a portfolio of initiatives, managing resources and schedule, working closely with Product Owners and, and enabling the passionate and highly skilled D365 FO ERP talent to do their best work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Summary:

The IT Software Engineering Manager will work and lead a global team on projects related to the creation, modification and support of the Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality Systems and International Distribution functions within the Polaris Operations applications group. The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for the high-level design and integration of software development by effectively partnering with business users, product owners, functional analysts, scrum managers, architects and software engineers. This individual will lead the team in analyzing existing business processes and data flows to develop systems designs, platform roadmaps and integrations to other systems. Management responsibilities include mentoring and managing functional analysts, driving KPI goals, improving internal processes, vendor relationship management, financial management and improving software quality. The Software Engineering Manager must demonstrate passion for strengthening and enhancing business results through software solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute small to large sized initiatives related to the product objectives

  • Perform Functional analysis and make recommendations for the improvement of existing ERP technologies and perform ongoing reviews of new capabilities and industry standards

  • Define and maintain the functional capability roadmap roadmap

  • Identify, define and develop key operational and performance measures; develop the process to collect metrics for monitoring

  • Produce and review reports demonstrating the overall health of the supported applications

  • Work with Agile product teams to transform stories into software design

  • Support and mentor Scrum teams to design solutions, leveraging capabilities of D365FO ERP

  • Collaborate with other software engineering managers and product owners to deliver high quality software

  • Ensure successful software releases

  • Ensures compliance with SOX, as applicable

System and User Support

  • Provides day-to-day application guidance and support

  • Understands technology and systems infrastructure

  • Work with Product Teams and Functional Analysts on user story refinement, release planning

  • Lead knowledge base build out for system processes and changes

Team Leadership

  • Develop schedules, set priorities, solicit input, providing direction, mentor and manage performance, set performance goals, and ensuring high quality customer service and on-time delivery of agreed deliverables

  • Manage vendor relationships. Participates in the evaluation and implementation of third-party software

  • Lead team to resolve systemic issues, determine and document root cause and solutions

  • Attends product and administrative meetings; Prepares technical project status reports

  • Value and embrace teamwork and collaboration and be responsible for team productivity

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent

  • 10+ years of overall experience in software engineering with increasing responsibility

  • 6+ years of Functional Experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations ERP, within Finance/Manufacturing / Supply Chain environment

  • 4+ years of demonstrated people leadership

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and Thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to lead a high performing team & work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience working with medium to large matrixed teams in a global environment

  • Experience in Agile environments

  • Applicable D365FO certification would be an added plus!
