Element Materials Technology Chemist II/III in Bend, Oregon

Overview

Element has an opening for a Chemist II or Chemist III position at our extractables and leachables (E&L) testing Center of Excellence in Bend, OR. This position will work in a cGMP-regulated environment under the direction of a Team Lead or other senior staff member in laboratory and office settings. The position will work with a team completing E&L project work using internal methods, protocols and SOPs according to customer specific requirements. This position requires working in a collaborative manner with other team members to accomplish organizational goals, providing ideas to improve efficiency and actively contributing to positive co-worker/customer relationships through efficient interaction on current projects. The Chemist II or Chemist III will also contribute to team continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Member of LC-MS or GC-MS team utilizing advanced analytical instrumentation to perform E&L sample and data analysis

  • Effectively perform project tasks under direction of Team Lead and Chromatography Manager

  • Create, revise or review controlled procedures and participate in the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Quality System

  • Promote growth and development within analytical team and greater Element Bend organization

  • Depending on experience, may assist with protocol and report writing and reviewing

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field is required

  • Minimum 2 years experience (for Chemist II) or 4 years experience (for Chem III) in a laboratory setting, with cGMP experience preferred

  • Prior experience analytical technique such as LC-MS or GC-MS required
