StackTeck EDM Machinist (Day Shift) in Brampton, Ontario
StackTeck, with over five decades of mold building innovation, is a leading source of high productivity tooling solutions for the injection molding industry. StackTeck supplies a wide range of injection molds and IML automation used to produce plastic parts in applications such as caps, closures, medical, PET preforms, and thinwall packaging; as well as complete system integrations including IML .
SUMMARY: The position of EDM Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating EDM equipment used to machine parts and components for the mold industry. This position will report to the Manufacturing Manager, Finishing Operations.
*Please note this position is for day shift (7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program and setup EDM machines and work with minimal supervision;
Determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, and set up requirements from programs, process sheets and/or component drawings;
Select, preset and adjust settings needed for optimal speed and tolerances;
Ensure effective production of quality parts by completing in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment;
Ensure that all machining tasks are completed in accordance with specified run times;
Conduct minor preventative maintenance procedures as scheduled;
Complete minor troubleshooting as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Post-Secondary education – Completion of College or Certificate in General Machinist, CNC Programming or similar mechanical program preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 1 year experience operating EDM machines
Experience in a machine shop setting, mold making industry preferred.
Proven knowledge to program and set up CNC machines
