Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible to supervise the day-to-day activities and staff in the Retail Financial Services area to include, but not limited to, preparation/review of various tax returns, estimates and financial statements while acting as a financial advisor to multiple retail businesses.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Responsible to supervise the day-to-day activities and staff of the assigned area creating accountability by clearly communicating work standards, goals, and objectives.

  • Review and/or prepare corporate, partnership, limited liability, trust, gift, and individual tax returns for clients.

  • Review and/or prepare quarterly tax estimated payments.

  • Ensure client financial statements are prepared in accordance with department standards.

  • Present financial statements and various other financial reports to clients.

  • Provide training and support to team to ensure quality performance in processing along with proper customer response and satisfaction.

  • Analyze accounting processes and issues; make recommendations for improvements in processes and transactional workflow as appropriate.

  • Act as a resource to staff in troubleshooting complex issues; notifies and/or escalates issue to management as appropriate.

  • Maintain current knowledge of tax regulations, industry trends and best accounting practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company compliance.

  • Responsible for department supervision including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required) in accounting, taxation or other related field.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

  • Five years tax and general accounting experience with prior experience in a supervisor or leadership role.

  • Experience reviewing and/or preparing corporate, partnership, trust and individual tax returns.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational, reasoning, and decision-making skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.

  • Ability to provide work direction and training to direct reports.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel).

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
