L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Sr. Specialist, Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Carlsbad, CA facility.

Position Overview:

The Hardware Engineering and Development team is product focused that sees their designs from initial concept to development and through production. Candidates will work closely with Systems and Software Engineering, CAD, Components Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet all requirements and are producible.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participate in system requirements definition

  • Lead and participate in high-level design and low-level design review

  • Produce and test design deliverables such as Printed Wiring Assemblies in Digital and mixed signal applications

  • Create Bill of Materials and work with Planning and Supply Chain for part procurement

  • Work closely with Component Engineering for part creation on new designs as well as for sustaining of current products

  • Produce program deliverables and develop design-level documentation

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Clearance

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 12 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with design tools and processes for Schematic Capture, CAD, SPICE, ADS, Hyperlynx, MATLAB,

  • Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, and/or Modelsim/Questa

  • Strong background in Digital, RF, Analog circuit design principles, DSP, Programmable Logic and/or FPGA

  • Self-starter, collaborative, and independent

  • Knowledge and/or experience with VHDL, Verilog, Power, Analog, Antennas, Controls, RF, Modem, EDA, DSP, MATLAB, Communication Systems, Aerospace industry

  • Work and/or project experience in any of the following: Digital, Analog, or RF circuit design, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, Programmable Logic

  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Familiarity with various computing environments (LINUX/Windows)

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $102,000 - $190,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
