Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Chesapeake, Virginia. In this role, you will support HR functions in a government contractor for aviation, with an emphasis on maintaining strong employee relations and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing ADP - Workforce Now systems

• Utilize ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode for efficient HR operations

• Support HRM functions including benefit and compensation administration

• Maintain and update HRMS and About Time systems to ensure accurate employee records

• Handle employee inquiries, demonstrating the ability to resolve conflicts and manage sometimes difficult situations

• Exhibit a keen attention to detail, ensuring all HR-related documentation and processes are accurate and up-to-date

• Display a positive attitude and willingness to learn new HR systems and processes

• Leverage Intermediate Excel skills for data management and reporting

• Foster a personable and professional environment, promoting positive employee relations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar Human Resources role.

• Experience in handling Benefit Functions.

• Proficiency in Compensation Administration.

• Strong understanding of Compliance in HR practices.

• Experience in managing Employee Relations.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• High level of confidentiality and professionalism.

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field would be advantageous.
