DescriptionDevOps EngineerOnsite in Frankfort, KY12-Month ContractOur clientis seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer with Unix/AIX and Linux experience. The ideal engineer will bring their experiences, best practices, and a collaborative attitude to help drive DevOps and Cloud initiatives. To be successful, one must effectively communicate with our team to orchestrate the creation of solutions that can scale. The responsibilities include building a process for automation as well as contributing to the development of internal tools to achieve operational efficiency.Responsibilities:As part of a team implement DevOps infrastructure projectsDesign and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environmentsBuild and deploy automation, monitoring, and analysis solutionsSupport, develop and maintain applications using various DevOp tools such as Ansible, Rancher, Docker and Kubernetes.Manage our continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiencyImplement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration managementSecure, scale, and manage Unix\Linux virtual environmentsDevelop and maintain solutions for operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoringContinuously evaluate existing systems with industry standards, and make recommendations for improvementDesired Skills & Experiences:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldUnderstanding of system administration in Unix\Linux environmentsKnowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and KubernetesKnowledge of tools like Ansible, Puppet and Jenkins PipelineExperience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation)Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash, Python, and JavaScriptStrong communication and documentation skillsAn ability to drive to goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detailKnowledge and experience with Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) or Redhat Virtualization would be a plus.Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skillsFull understanding of software development lifecycle best practicesStrong understanding of micro-services and related architecturesEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
