Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Graduate Nurse.

The Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients on each clinical unit as assigned, utilizing the nursing process. Patient population serviced includes both adolescents and adults. Patients are hospitalized for a broad variety of psychiatric disorders, including mood, anxiety and thought disorders.

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Continually assess the physical and emotional needs of each patient.

• Demonstrates awareness of the key elements of the treatment plans for all assigned patients.

• Implement quality patient care to assigned patients.

• Participates in assigned groups/activities to meet the needs of various patient populations and/or diagnostic groups.

• Assists the RN with patient admissions, discharges and transfers.

  Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse - waiting to sit for RN boards.

• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice with previous psychiatric clinical experience desired.

• Demonstrate clinical competency in providing general nursing care.
