**[Usual duties: [This is a full-time, tenured faculty position. The chair will lead and coordinate strategic planning and curriculum development for the Department of Counselor Education. Manage the budget and operations. Evaluate faculty and staff performance; coordinate accreditation and program approval initiatives. Teach two courses during the academic year. Provide service to the university, community, and profession; actively participate in student recruitment, support faculty growth and development opportunities. Promote interdepartmental collaboration and communication. In addition, the chair will participate as a member of the Executive Council for the College of Education as well as a member of the Universitys Council of Chairs.

**[Degree Requirements: [Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited doctoral program.

**[Experience Requirements: [The candidate must have experience in university teaching and serving in leadership roles in higher education, such as department chair, program coordination, or other similar experiences. The candidate must have a strong record of scholarly productivity; demonstrate a record of service; and must qualify for appointment at the level of Associate or Full Professor. The candidate must have a working knowledge of CACREP accreditation.

**[Other Requirements for the Position: [The candidate must be a licensed professional counselor. If candidate is licensed in another state and offered the position, candidate must seek licensure in Texas within the first year.
