Description

We are seeking a dedicated Controller to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this role, you will be expected to oversee all accounting functions with a particular focus on accounts receivable and credit business. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting department

• Assist the team in handling recent ERP implementation

• Utilize a minimum of 10 years experience in accounting to contribute to our team

• Assess the current state of the accounting department in a new environment and make recommendations for process improvement

• Utilize skills in Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Controllership, and Credit - Collections

• Handle accounts receivable and credit side of the business

• Manage the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and procedures

• Oversee the preparation of all financial reports

• Evaluate and manage risk

• Ensure compliance with regulations

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Controller role or similar.

• Proven expertise in Accounting Functions, including but not limited to, Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Proficient in Auditing and Controllership tasks.

• Solid knowledge and experience in Credit Collections.

• Ability to manage and oversee all financial operations within the organization.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

• Proficiency in using financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.

• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is highly desirable.

• Proven ability to develop and implement financial and operational strategies.

• Experience with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
