Amazon DPO Supply Chain Planning , Device Postponement Operations (Cavalry) in Monroe, Ohio

Description

You will be working as a supply chain management professional in Monroe, Ohio for the Amazon Devices Postponement Operations (DPO) team, a group within the Device Operations organization. DPO ensures product availability for customers by solving the problem of in-region mix imbalance. DPO is set up to defer the final product configuration decision close to the customer within the local sales region.

Key job responsibilities

Supply Chain Planning Manager:

The Planning Manager is responsible for all activities related to supply planning from production forecasts to finished good delivery. This person is responsible for working cross functionally with local and remote Operations team driving planning and order fulfillment. In this role, you will:

  • Create and maintain a production schedule using the capacity plan, material constraints, and demand as inputs.

  • Communicate forecast and verify fulfillment from a materials perspective.

  • Analyze demand changes. Ensure supply aligns with demand requirements.

  • Drive solutions to reduce and eliminate any short- or long-term gaps in supply plans and materials.

  • Manage order fulfillment. Work with demand planning team & manufacturing service provider to provide order prioritization when supply is constrained.

  • Lead and facilitate meetings with DPO manufacturing and component supply partners as required to reduce and eliminate shortages

  • Clearly communicate our manufacturing partner's current production situation to stakeholders.

  • Develop production strategies for new production introductions (NPI) through end of life (EOL) that balances supply and demand.

  • Monitor and report supply chain material costs.

  • Identify opportunities to improve the planning process and drive projects to completion.

  • Travel required, up to 30%

A day in the life

The Supply Chain Manager is at the center of the DPO group working closely with Demand Management, Factory Operations, Operations Program Management, other Supply chain managers, component suppliers and contract manufacturing. A day will consist of generating forecasts, ensuring that supply inputs are generated and entered into the supply chain system and checking daily production to ensure it's meeting plan. On some days you will work with the business intelligence team on reporting and metrics analysis. You will also work on process improvement to help make the DPO team more effective and efficient.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
