Hologic is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Breast and Skeletal Health at our expanding Innovation Center located in Newark, DE.

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing of products produced externally by contract manufacturers. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. This individual will should be a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization with an ability to resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

What to Expect:

  • Performs complex experiments that may require support and coordination of other engineers or technicians.

  • Active participant in R&D projects, providing design input and ensuring projects can be translated into cost-effective production.

  • Supports R&D in marking cost estimated for equipment, tools and components.

  • Responsible for the manufacture and performance of assigned product line(s).

  • Responsible for working with contract manufacturer to develop fabrication and assembly procedures to manufacture products and associated tooling needed for new and existing processes.

  • Assists in the design of tooling and fixtures.

  • Initiates and/or approves necessary changes in design, drafting, tooling, methods, processes and documentation that affects the manufacturing process.

  • Oversee the creation and revision of standard operation procedures, organizational standards, directives pertaining to scheduling, cost control and production performance evaluation.

  • Develop, verifies and validates processes for manufacturing.

What We Expect:

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office.

  • Regulated experience - medical device preferred.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Advanced ability to read, interpret and create drawings.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, quality improvement and cost reduction methodologies such as Continuous Improvement Methodologies, Lean, Root Cause and Root Cause Failure Analysis, TQM, SPC, Six Sigma.

  • Ability to develop and lead corrective action plans.

  • Ability to be a high performing team member.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work with external and/or remotely located stakeholders.

  • Takes initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Preferred Minimum Non-Technical Degree: College Degree

  • Preferred Minimum Technical/Advanced Degree: Technical Bachelor’s Degree

Experience

  • Preferred Minimum Non-Technical Degree: 5-8 Years

  • Preferred Minimum Technical/Advanced Degree: 2-5 Years with Technical Bachelor’s Degree, 1-3 Years with Master’s Degree, 0-1 Years with PhD

The annualized base salary range for this role is $91,200 - $142,700 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
