Description

We are seeking a Controller for a 2 to 3 month engagement in Plano, Texas, who will play a pivotal role in our financial audit process and business process improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting function, including overseeing the use of Sage software. This role provides an opportunity to work in a hybrid schedule, with initial in-office requirements during the ramp-up period.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial audit process with external partners

• Evaluate current staff and processes to identify areas for improvement

• Ensure efficient use of Sage software to enhance report generation

• Backfill and cross-train with the existing senior accountant to ensure a smooth transition

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

• Lead the annual external audit process

• Implement business process improvements within the accounting function

• Utilize accounting software systems for efficient financial management

• Assist in the preparation of Audit PBC lists

• Monitor and manage the company's financial position, financial reports, and accounting processes.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a must-have skill for this role.

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial.

• Must be capable of undertaking the Annual External Audit process.

• Familiarity with Sage Software is required for this position.

• The ability to prepare Audit PBC lists is essential.

• Should have a track record of contributing to Business process improvements.

• A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting is needed.

• Excellent analytical skills to provide accurate and data-based information on company’s profitability, solvency, stability, and liquidity.

• High level of professionalism and integrity due to the dealings with confidential information.

• Strong leadership skills to manage a team of accountants and financial professionals.

• Excellent communication skills to report on financial projections and risks to the senior management team.

• Advanced degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field; several years of experience in a business or finance environment; management experience; and an understanding of data privacy standards are all required.
