FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

York College, founded in 1966, is a center of academic excellence in the heart of Jamaica, Queens. York’s academic programs are housed in three schools: The School of Arts & Sciences, The School of Business and Information Systems, and The School of Health Sciences and Professional Programs. Over sixty baccalaureate programs from across a variety of disciplines, including accounting, aviation management, business, computer science, journalism, social work, teacher education, a dual BS/MS degree in Occupational Therapy, and one of the top-ranked nursing programs in New York State, provide students with opportunities to study liberal arts, sciences, and professional programs. The College also offers six graduate programs: Aviation Management, Clinical Trials Management, Pharmaceutical Science and Business, Physician Assistant, Social Work and Nursing Education.

The department of Occupational Therapy is housed within the School of Health Sciences and Professional Programs. The Department of Occupational Therapy is seeking a qualified candidate for the tenure tract position of Assistant/Associate Professor.The anticipated start date is Fall 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching: Develop and deliver courses in the occupational therapy curriculum, ensuring high-quality instruction and engaging classroom experiences.

Clinical Experience: Bring a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience to enhance the practical application of theoretical concepts in the classroom.

Scholarly Activities: Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publications, and presentations, contributing to the academic advancement of the department and the field of occupational therapy.

Advising: Provide academic and career advising to students, fostering their professional development and success.

Service: Participate in departmental and university service activities/assignments, participating in committees and other collaborative initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Doctoral degree (PhD, OTD, or related doctorate) in Occupational Therapy or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an academic setting.

A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy.

Demonstrated ability to engage in scholarly activities.

Must be licensed in the State of New York or eligible for licensing.

Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Assistant Professor - Salary Range $90,375 - $99,532

Associate Professor - Salary Range $100,329 - $110,641

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
