Position Summary

West Marine Pro is seeking an Outbound Sales Representative who will grow Pro sales of their assigned accounts in the West Coast time zones.

The Outbound Sales Representative is responsible for supporting Pro sales and customers, driving positive relationships, and growing sales of their assigned accounts. The Outbound Sales Representative is responsible for initiating daily emails or calls to prospects/ customers and participates in market and division level selling initiatives with the goal of increasing West Marine Pro’s market share. They also coordinate setting up contracts, following up on quotes and orders while also having frequent touchpoints with the departments that support our Pro Customers and Sales team. This position is highly autonomous and requires an individual who is self-motivated and driven to achieve superior results. The Outbound Sales Representative reports to the Director of Pro Operations and works closely with the Market Manager of the area they support. Primary Responsibilities:

Meets or exceeds planned growth metrics of assigned accounts.

• Reactivates dormant, lapsed, or low-spend accounts via various touchpoints.

• Coordinates sales efforts with marketing programs and strategic initiatives

o Promotes new products, seasonal products, and company focuses. o Drives customer engagement through email and calling campaigns. o Logs activity in Salesforce CRM and uses CRMA to drive decision-making.

• Reviews and carries out purchase orders, requisition lists, quotes, and opportunities.

• Coordinates orders, special orders, and other related order management functions and ensures shipping dates meets customer’s expectations.

• Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.

• Ensures follow through for backorders and cancelled orders are acted upon with a sense of urgency.

• Effectively answers Customer questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability.

• Identifies high-potential Customers and coordinates strategy and/or handoff with the Territory Managers and Market Manager.

• Prospects and follows through on leads within the geographic market they are assigned.

Collaborates with cross functional teams to meet sales and service objectives.

• Analyses cold and warm leads for qualification to a new Pro account.

• Audits their accounts and works with Pro Account Management routinely.

• Engages with Order Management, Customer Service, and the Special Orders team to ensure orders are fulfilled and shipped according to customer expectations.

• Collaborates with the Director of Pro Operations, Territory Managers, Market Managers and Sales Directors on a routine basis to discuss sales performance, growth opportunities, and roadblocks.

• Schedules appropriate planning time to maximize productivity and output.

• Forecasts product for their assigned accounts and submits to the Replenishment team.

• Attends Pro virtual meetings and other virtual Pro calls when requested.

Education, Experience & Skills:

Minimum education required/preferred, area of study:

  • Minimum High School or GED

  • College Degree in Business or related field and/or U.S. Military Service preferred

Minimum years of relevant experience required/preferred:

  • 3+ years Sales or Customer Service experience preferred.

  • Proficient knowledge of marine products and the marine industry preferred.

Additional skills/knowledge required include:

  • Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills

  • Good presentation, analytical and negotiation skills

  • Sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word

  • Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
