Owns the Trim development process for alldivisions from concept through to commercialization. Must remaintrue and sensitive to the creative directions of Design/Merchandising whilestriving to maintain the highest quality standards for Mountain Hardwear.

Responsibilities:

•Work closely with Design and Merchandising to procure criticaldesign information related to the trim development of all MHW ProductCategories.

•Source and develop trims in multiple countries as required bymanufacturing. Work to insure consistent quality and design integrity forsame item sourced with multiple suppliers.

•Distribute all relevant development information to concernedliaison offices and/or domestic vendors.

•Monitor new and multi-sourced trims to ensure they aredeveloped within established timelines for salesman samples/production.

•Maintain PDM trim library – assign PDM numbers and update trimspecifications. Work closely with Design and Product Development tocreate seasonal trim palette in PDM.

•Maintain seasonal trim development list. Includescommunicating development status, changes and general concerns to Design,Merchandising, Product Development and Sourcing.

•Review material samples prior to approval to ensure that theymeet design requirements as well as Mountain Hardwear specifications andquality standards.

•File drawer maintenance for approved quality sample storage,Organization and maintenance of trim library, Set up and maintenance of trimlab dip list.

•Post current season CADS and physical samples in trim/colordisplay unit – resource library.

•Communicate arrival of new vendor samples to Designers andAssociates.

•Schedule vendor meetings. Use Outlook to coordinateappropriate time for appointments. Communicate schedule to all Designers andAssociates.

Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in related field, with course work intextiles, manufacturing or related experience.

•3-5 years’ experience in materials development/materialslaboratory or related field required; experience with Asian materialsdevelopment a plus.

•Must have working knowledge of apparel and hard goodsindustry.

•Must be familiar with textile construction methods andmanufacturing, materials testing methods and appropriate interaction of labresults as they pertain to products.

•Possess working knowledge of materials and functional aspectsof garments and hard goods (pack/Tent/Sleeping Bags).

•Possess strong organizational skills.

•Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict timelines,manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work extended hours ifnecessary.

•Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Illustrator, PLM.
