OnLogic, Inc. Hardware Automation Engineer in South Burlington, Vermont

As a member of our IT Team in South Burlington, VT, you work closely with the Engineering and Production teams to ensure our products are built to specification and perform as designed. One of OnLogic’s differentiators is shipping computer systems however the customer wants; that includes the hardware, custom BIOS settings, custom images, and more, leading to millions of possible combinations. Your interest in "where software meets hardware" means you play a critical role in ensuring our automated hardware testing platform continually supports bleeding-edge hardware.

On an average day, you'll...

  • Research, design, implement and deploy OnLogic’s automated hardware imaging and testing solution.

  • Work with Engineering to ensure all new hardware being introduced into OnLogic’s product line can be tested and develop/update hardware tests as needed.

  • Respond to and investigate critical support issues which are impacting orders currently in production.

  • Maintain documentation for users and stakeholders which details what the system does, how it works, how to configure tests, and how to use it.

  • Collaborate with our Engineering and Operations teams to implement beginning-to-end test procedures.

  • Collaborate with the rest of the Infrastructure and Development teams to design and implement scalable, robust and production ready applications.

  • Train Sales and Engineering so they can better engage customers and vendors when discussing our system testing and image deployments.

  • Join the on-call rotation to ensure support for our EU production line.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • You have excellent working knowledge of Linux including: application development, scripting, basic administration, kernel interfaces, and embedded/minimal environments.

  • You have experience working with creating ansible playbooks and deploying them to a variety of different types of hardware.

  • You have knowledge of standard boot processes (UEFI and Legacy/CSM) and supporting bootloader technologies (GRUB, iPXE, etc.).

  • You have experience with Python and/or additional Unix scripting languages (bash, KornShell, C shell, etc.).

  • You have experience with micro services architectures.

Who we're looking for:

  • You love technology and have a strong understanding of computer hardware and software architectures.

  • Familiarity with Windows application development and scripting is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Secure Supply Chain concepts (Secure/Trusted/Measured boot, BIOS Guard, Boot Guard, PTT, Autopilot, FDO)

Benefits

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000. We determine final compensation based on discussions with applicants and their experience in similar roles.
