BANK OF UTAH Mortgage Branch Manager in ST. GEORGE, Utah

Manages the production of the Loan Officers and Loan Officer Assistants within a Mortgage Branch.  Originates permanent FHA, VA, conventional, and construction, residential mortgage loans and participates in related business development activities. Salary + Commission based on experience and qualifications. 

Experience/Skills necessary to perform duties:

  • Associates Degree in Business or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • Minimum of 5 year related lending experience.

Regular Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manages Mortgage Loan Production within a Branch.  Promotes Branch loan production.  Assists SVP of Mortgage Division in management of Branch profitability.  Reviews financial statements and proactively looks for ways to increase profitability.  Responsible for recruiting, training, motivating, and related activities of Loan Officers assigned to the Branch.  Assists Mortgage Operations with supervision of other Branch employees (processors).  Holds weekly Sales Meeting and oversees branch marketing and business development.  Coordinates marketing and business development between Retail Banking Branches that may not have mortgage loan officers.  Assists in training and implementing Mortgage and Bank policies at the Branch level.  Assists, advises, and counsels with SVP of the Mortgage Division on general mortgage production issues.  Manages and reviews Branch loan pipeline.  Provides supervision and support for various loan issues that may arise.  Assists Mortgage Operations Manager with input on yearly employee evaluations for Branch personnel.
  • Originates Residential Mortgage Loans.  Originates permanent single-family residential FHA, VA, conventional, and construction mortgage loans and participates in related business development activities.  Must achieve established minimum level of loan production to provide a profitable return to the Bank.  Solicits residential first mortgages through contacts with realtors, builders, and developers.  Provides service to customers and prospective customers seeking residential mortgage loans.  Must spend at least 35% of their work time away from the Bank premises customarily and regularly engaged in making sales or obtaining loan applications in pursuit of prospective clients. 
  • *Obtains Information for Loan Application Process. * Interviews applicant to develop information concerning their needs, desires, and earnings to assist in determining whether the loan will be an acceptable risk.  Obtains and analyzes pertinent financial and credit data. Acquaints applicants with their rights and responsibilities pertaining to the loan application. Follows current loans to ensure compliance with terms. Adheres to all procedures and applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and ordinances. Such as the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Fair Housing Act. Requests copies of sales contract and all addendums and reviews the detail. Ensures the preparation and processing of forms and legal documents required for residential loans.  Directs the Mortgage Loan Processor to perform his/her duties as assigned. Assures that loan package is complete and presents file to the loan committee for approval or denial.  Explains credit policies and obtains additional loan information/documentation.  Insures that the necessary documentation is received in a timely manner to accurately calculate the commissions due to the Loan Officer.  Collects monies needed to cover all applicable costs of the mortgage applications in a manner compliant with Regulation Z. Works with the Secondary Market department to price and lock all loans according to policy and procedures.
  • Mortgage Loan Marke ting.  Markets Bank of Utah Mortgage services and customer relationships that will generate mortgage lending activity for the Bank.
