The Surface Audio team is currently recruiting a Senior Audio Engineer with a passion for technology to deliver world-class audio solutions for communications and entertainment devices.

As a Senior Audio Engineer , you will perform audio measurements to ensure and verify audio quality, debug and solve complex challenges, develop audio quality evaluation methods and work to define and build audio concepts for the next generation Surface devices.As a member of the audio team, you will collaborate closely with Algorithm Developers, Design Validation Team, Electrical- and Mechanical Engineers to support and drive the realization of the hardware and software solutions to enable innovative experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and run audio AI/ML training data collection solutions.

  • Design and implement subjective and objective audio verification tools, solutions, and methods for audio AI/ML purposes.

  • Data collection and annotation for AI/ML.

  • Collaboration with other team members to define Audio System Architecture and ML/AI based audio technologies and experiences.

  • Perform accurate and repeatable measurements for audio systems.

  • Analyze and derive conclusions from the audio test data.

  • Conduct audio tunings to meet the product experience targets and specifications.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of technical engineering experience

  • OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of audio pipelines (render, capture, and speech).

  • Experience with the following audio processing techniques: dynamic range compression, noise suppression, echo cancellation, beamforming, and equalization.

  • Knowledge and understanding of usage and functionality of audio AI/ML models.

  • Thorough understanding of audio and acoustic signals in time and frequency domain.

  • Ability to analyze data with tools like Adobe Audition, Audacity, MATLAB, etc.

  • Hands-on experience on industry-standard audio measurement systems (Audio Precision, Head Acoustics, Klippel, etc.)

  • Ability to communicate in global enviornment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in audio quality verification and knowledge of different audio quality verification methods.

  • 5+ years’ experience of Audio Design in consumer electronics, influencing cross-functional teams and leadership for the improvement of audio quality.
