Google Network Implementation Engineer, Google Distributed Cloud in Thornton, Colorado

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment.

  • 4 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.

  • Experience in a data center or Point of Presence environment, OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience reading/writing or scripting code in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.).

  • Experience with administering cloud services.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, with knowledge of internet peering/routing topologies.

  • Excellent problem solving, partner management, and written and verbal communication skills.

  • Passion for engaging/influencing decision-making.

As a member of the Google Distributed Cloud Infrastructure Delivery organization you will be part of a cross-functional team that brings Google Cloud's Infrastructure and Services to customers. As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will be part of a team that is conceptualizing, developing, designing, prototyping, and deploying Google Distributed Cloud and Google Edge based solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $111,000-$163,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Plan, design, develop, activate, and build Google Distributed Cloud infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate new network and computing hardware, solutions, and technology.

  • Engage in and improve the life-cycle of services from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.

  • Support services and products before they go live through solution design consulting, developing infrastructure platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.

  • Assist adjacent Google engineering teams in building an ecosystem of integration partners empowered by Google software automation.
