NBC Universal Sr. Financial Analyst in Universal City, California

NBCUniversal’s Finance group has an opening for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst within the West Coast Studio Operations finance team.  In this role, you will provide financial analysis and support for capital projects led by the Facilities Division’s Studio Design and Construction Team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Review and submit all Facilities projects into the capital system for approval.

  • Partner with operations to process all capital Purchase Orders, applying payments and conducting reconciliation reports between SAP and Purchase Manager system.

  • Set up capital projects into SAP with the proper accounting structure upon completion of the approval process.

  • Track project activity by comparing actual activity to budgeted activity and expenditures.

  • Provide timely project reporting to project managers and create project spend variance analyses (Weekly)

  • Prepare detailed project close-out packages upon project completion and to ensure assets are properly identified for the fixed asset system.

  • Assist with project cash flow forecasts for capital projects, accrue costs monthly, and prepare monthly project closing entries.

  • Constant interaction with the Facilities project management team, vendors/consultants, NY capital accounting team, Tax Department and Accounts Payable Team.

  • Assist the Fixed Asset team with various audit requests.

  • Partnering with the Capital Planning team in analyzing and reviewing project after completion. This involves comparing performance to baseline budget, variance analysis, and utilizing data to develop new budget standards for future projects. 

  • Prepare and generate various reports in SAP and Excel/Ad Hoc reports as needed.

What You Must Have:

  • 2+ years of financial analysis experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting field

  • Proficiency in SAP G/L, SAP BPC/Business Warehouse comparable accounting system

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, charting, financial formulae)

Additional Requirements:

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
