Emerson Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager - WR in Saudi Arabia

HSE Manager would provide functional leadership to Western Region (Saudi Arabia & Bahrain) organization for Emerson; Incumbent will be responsible to reinforce this commitment throughout our expanding facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Incumbent will work closely with management and leadership to actively engage them in the management of HSE. This includes ensuring that they understand their statutory responsibilities and providing briefings on significant standard related concerns.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise in all areas of HSE, to provide the Saudi Arabia Leadership and sites with appropriate advice and support.

Develop and implement the strategic plan of HSE in alignment with overall MEA HSE strategic plan.

Own the ISO 14001 and 45001 External audits programs.

Ensure the closure of internal and external audit findings and support closure of action items.

Lead and facilitate the process of HSE Committee meeting and management review meeting across WR.

Owning the legal health and safety assessment on annual assessment for all WR operation.

Implement sustainability initiatives to supply to Emerson sustainability target and achieve Net Zero through :

Planning, coordination, and execution of Sustainability (Greening-of) program for the Western Region to achieve Emerson’s NetZero target for Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

Attending all key training and WA Sustainability Council meetings.

Developing region-specific “Greening-of” objectives in coordination with WA objectives.

Setting up KSA green teams and coordination among different BUs to bring the green team operational.

Leading and reporting status update about the progress of objectives and targets.

Providing HSE support to any new construction or acquisition of Emerson facilities within KSA and Bahrain. This includes but is not limited to;

Providing HSE due diligence to the project team by performing thorough pre-qualification assessments of contractors.

Reviewing and approving all HSE documentation including HSE Plan, Risk Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan, Emergency management plan, and any other specific HSE documentation.

Conducting frequent site inspections and coordination with the construction partner to ensure all HSE controls are implemented.

Participating in project review meetings to represent Emerson from an HSE standpoint.

Reviewing and monitoring of HSE performance of contractors on a periodic basis.

Maintain and continuously improve the relevant sections of the HSE Emergency Response plans through an annual review with all relevant partners: ensuring that sufficient First-Aiders, Fire Marshals are appointed and trained, based upon an assessment of the risks and requirements.

Responsible for maintaining and facilitating continuous improvement in all aspects of the site’s HSE management systems and standards, aligns with Emerson’s systems and policies.

Proactively engage with Management teams at all levels of the Business Unit’s to ensure ownership and accountability for HSE improvement and to develop and influence a positive Health & Safety environment within the organization through effective improvement activities.

Ensure that all accidents and near miss events are promptly and thoroughly investigated, lessons learnt are shared and that accurate reports are completed, and all relevant information entered to Velocity reporting system.

Prepare, monitor, and analyze statistical data on Health, Safety and Environmental trends and share with employees and leadership team monthly.

Continually review and update or create (where required) risk registers, policies, and procedures to ensure successful control of Health, Safety & Environmental risks.

Development and implementation of WR HSE training plan, conduct HSE inductions including general HSE training.

To guide and support Assurance activities across the organization, enabling it to deliver its strategy and targets, to improve its operational efficiency and performance, and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Audit, guide and review the implementation of HSE policies, working practices, safety procedures for all respective operations. Ensure that regular audits, inspections and safety tours take place within the required standards and provide guidance on corrective actions where appropriate.

Develop relationships with external HSE bodies and clients to ensure an effective working environment.

Lead annual management review meeting with leadership team and develop HSE plan, goals and objectives for Saudi Arabia sites.

Respond to client tender bids, support development of project HSE documentation such as HSE Plans and Interface/ bridging documents.

Ensure Saudi facilities aligns with all applicable laws and codes related to facilities including Emerson standards and local legislation.

Who you are?

  1. Experience in a HSE Management preferably within a large multinational in the manufacturing or oil and gas industries.

  2. Validated skills in people management, communication & collaboration

  3. Validating skills of leadership and balancing various partners

  4. CMIOSH, CSP or equivalent

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • BSc or MSc or equivalent experience or Engineering Degree

  • Level 6 or above qualification in occupational health & Safety

  • NEBOSH IGC, IOSH MS and equivalent

  • Certified Internal/External Auditor for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Chartered Membership of IOSH or similar bodies

Certified as “Professional - HSE” in KSA Govt portal

Excellent written and spoken English is important.
