Position Description:

The Planning and Scheduling Specialist plays a key role in supporting the project team by overseeing the development, monitoring, and maintenance of procurement and project schedules for facility management and construction projects. This role involves updating and maintaining schedules alongside monthly narratives, ensuring the timely achievement of project milestones through effective scheduling, and communicating. The position will employ methodologies such as time impact analysis, critical path method, and earned value management to analyze work breakdown structures and resource requirements, contributing to the successful execution of facility management and construction initiatives.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.

• 5+ years of construction scheduling experience and/or a combination of education and experience.

• Professional level experience in P6/P8 OPC, Asta software, and/or other scheduling software.

• Familiarity with OnePlan.

• Proficiency in developing, resource loading, analyzing, and reporting on project schedules.

• Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), Critical Path Method (CPM), Time Impact Analysis (TIA), and work breakdown structures (WBS) methodologies, principles, and applications.

• Experience with Federal Project contracts/scheduling.

• General knowledge of construction and Facilities Management means and methods.

• Can effectively organize the day based around changing priorities and tasks.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills., picks, handsaws, skill saws, and drills.

Essential Duties:

• Utilize earned value management principles and experience to facilitate the development of the project schedule, develop work breakdown structures, evaluate the performance of the project, and analyze budget and/or resource variances from the baseline plan.

• Engage with trade partners for the development of baseline schedules, monthly updates, and recovery schedules.

• Communicate effectively with all field staff members, project management team, and the client to ensure efficient and accurate schedule development and updates.

• Produce reports required by the contract specifications and project management team.

• Identify and communicate significant schedule risks to staff and appropriate division personnel. Take necessary actions to mitigate possible risks.

• Forecast impacts of variances to aid in the management of the schedule and implement controls to avoid claims.

• Analyze delivery impacts, time extensions, claims, etc. using schedule fragments.

• Interact with scheduling consultants in schedule reviews, claims analysis, etc.

• Perform monthly cash flow projections and analysis.

• Conduct workforce projections and analysis.

• Train and lead classes and facilitate learning of the scheduling systems amongst the project staff.
